Burning Anger
Jude could hear the principal as he yelled in his office
despite his classroom being at least Twenty feet away from it, the principal
querying Tinuke another teacher and a colleague of Jude was cut short at every
turn she tried explaining her position, but the principal didn’t show interest
“get your pupils’ performance level up or get fired” the principal spoke, on
hearing that Jude’s heart raced because it was his turn soon. Thirty minutes
later Jude went out of the principal’s office, he was furious and vowed to
punish severely any pupil that doesn’t do well in his class he later asked his
pupils to take out their note and taught them a topic in math promising them
he’ll flog anyone who fails during the class exercise. Soon, he told his pupils
to stop writing and submit their notes, for every question missed, he flogged
the pupils but was short of words after going through Taiwo’s note Jude was
unimpressed by what Taiwo wrote. Jude at this moment was angry, called out
Taiwo’s name and asked him to explain the nonsense he had written, since Taiwo
could not, Jude having boiling temper threw his pen at Taiwo. Taiwo cried out,
“my eyes” as blood filled his hands and face the sight of red liquid pouring
profusely from the child’s face sent shivers through Jude’s spine the anger
that Jude's friends had always warned him of had caught up with him. Teachers
upon hearing the cry, came into the class and rushed Taiwo out to wash his face and see the level of his injury and to administer first aid other teachers were
whispering how Mr Jude was in a big mess because of this issue and then
avoiding school tomorrow as they won’t be part of the ‘showdown’ to occur the
next day, as the teachers finished washing Taiwo’s face he raised his head and
his eyes were intact everyone realised the pen had hit his cheek millimetres
below his eyes this made everyone relieved and Mr Jude sat rooted in his chair
didn’t know what to do but thanked God as this incident had shaken him to the
core. The proprietor beckoned on Mr Jude to come into his office he kindly told
him to hand over the school’s properties and leave the premises with immediate
effect and told him if the parents took up the issue with the school they’d pay
him a visit. Jude left the school with his tail tucked between his legs.

DeleteYou're right Dalionpen.blogspot.com . I tried to bring the bring out the deep-seated anger issue of a Nigerian teacher using the academic inadequacies of his student.
DeleteSo many teachers are like this and it has resulted in severe punishment meted against the student due the teacher's inability to create a better student out of the child.
Thank you for your contribution.
